  • What is Reiki?

Reiki stimulates the body’s natural healing process and allows energy to be altered, released, and/or to flow more freely. The practitioner channels this energy to facilitate relaxation; relaxation in the body leads to the healing response. Reiki helps to restore health and well-being physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually as those energies are brought into alignment.

What are the benefits of Reiki?

    • Energy Balance - helps balance the flow of energy in the body which promotes the relaxation response and stress reduction

    • Physical: empowers the body’s natural healing response to facilitate increased vitality, immune function, and pain management

    • Mental Clarity - helps clear “mental fog” to aid in decision-making and problem-solving

    • Emotional Healing - assists in releasing emotional blockages

    • Spiritual Growth - can deepen awareness and connection to self and others

    • Complementary Therapy - enhances overall treatment outcomes when used alongside other medical or therapeutic modalities

What happens in a Reiki session?

In a Reiki session the practitioner will use gentle touch on, or hover their hands over (based on client preference), the key energy centers in the body.  The client stays fully clothed; loose fitting clothes are recommended.  Clients may choose to be covered with a sheet or light blanket for comfort.  After the session, clients should drink enough water to hydrate the body as the energy centers will be functioning at more optimal levels.  It is also recommended clients plan for some “down time” the day of treatment to reflect, journal, or otherwise process any insights or mental clarity.

What does a Reiki session feel like?

Clients may feel a combination of heat or coolness, tingling, throbbing, sleepiness, calm, peace, or nothing; it depends upon how each individual senses energy.  Reiki sensations may be subtle or powerful.  Some clients fall asleep. Fortunately, Reiki works whether a client feels it or not, or is awake or asleep.

"My quality of life was changed in every way. It made a huge difference in my ability to face ongoing health issues with positivity and power. The difference in my life was well noticed by friends and family as well, who saw how much better I felt after treatments."
